Pull Up a Chair, Set the Pistol Aside

Daniel Hatadi, a short-story writer and blogger based in one of my favorite cities in the world--fun-loving Sydney, Australia--writes to say that he’s created a new “social networking site ... a crime version of MySpace, called ... wait for it ... Crimespace.” He hopes this site will become “a substitute for the bar at Bouchercon or Harrogate or ThrillerFest”--a “place for crime fiction writers, readers and lovers to schmooze, booze and draw up plans for the heist to end all heists,” as he explains it.

I see that Sean Chercover (Big City, Bad Blood), Patricia Abbott, Patrick Shawn Bagley, Cornelia Read (A Field of Darkness), Tribe, Christa M. Miller, and the dauntingly ubiquitous Bryon Quertermous, among others, have already signed on as members. And I’m honored that Mr. Hatadi has an RSS feed going in the lower left corner of Crimespace from The Rap Sheet, as well as Sarah Weinman’s Confessions of an Idiosyncratic Mind.

Joining looks pretty easy, though it may require that you submit a photograph of yourself that makes you appear somewhat less like a serial killer than normal ...

What I lack in quality I make up for in quantity.
