No Wasted Words

Every since editor Bryon Quertermous mentioned on his blog a week ago that he’d finally completed work on the Winter 2007 issue of Demolition, I’ve been checking the site on and off, to see whether the new contents were up. And sure enough, there they are, eight new tales of criminal enterprise, three of them apparently the “very first fiction publications” by folks known for writing other things.

Included in the issue’s contents are stories by: Ed Lynskey (“Cheer for Me”), who’s also just out with his second P.I. Frank Johnson novel, The Blue Cheer; Peggy Ehrhart (“Stone Cool”); crime-fiction critic David J. Montgomery (“Mi Vida de Lucha”), who avers in his own blog that “I don’t think I’m particularly good” at penning short fiction; and longtime January Magazine and Rap Sheet contributor Anthony Rainone, a native New Yorker, whose tough little check-theft yarn, “Power of the Gods,” marks his entry into Midwest fiction.

Thanks for spreading the word about DEMOLITION. I'm glad you enjoyed the stories. Fancy writing one for us yourself?
