Before the Snap

I’m not a football follower, but I know plenty of other crime-fiction readers who are. So for their benefit—and with Super Bowl LVIII set to be played in Las Vegas on Sunday between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers—let me remind everyone about Janet Rudolph’s long list of football-related crime novels in Mystery Fanfare. You should have enough time to procure one of those books and at least start reading it before kick-off time this weekend.

Or, if you are more interested in what goes on in the stands, you can read a mystery by Phoebe Atwood TAYLOR, or one of Victor Appleton's Tom SWIFT books, or even a TRAVIS McGee novel by John D. MacDonald.

SPOILER ALERT: Don't expect a proposal during tomorrow's game because Taylor had already proposed to me earlier today. I, of course, turned her down because I am not thirteen-years-old. But I am afraid it is much too early for Travis to catch her on the rebound.
