Square in His Sights

With May over and done--“a truly madcap month”--British critic-novelist Mike Ripley returns with his fine June installment of “Getting Away with Murder” for Shots. The column’s contents include: observations on Italy’s Chianti Crime Festival and “the launch of the ‘Killer Women’ collective” in London; notice of Simon & Schuster’s September release, in the UK, of Tennison, Lynda La Plante’s prequel to her Prime Suspect series (no word yet on when that book might see print in the States); and word of still more forthcoming novels by Sam Eastland, Mike Nicol, and Robert Wilson.
