If you haven’t been paying attention, Seth Harwood’s latest venture, the crime-fiction short-story podcast site CrimeWAV, has been steadily building up its stock of dark yarns from various authors. Christa Faust, Jason Starr, and Vicki Hendricks have all had their turns at the mike. The latest tale, “Swift Boats for Jesus,” comes from author and sometime Rap Sheet contributor Gary Phillips. “Swift Boats” was originally featured in Phillips’ anthology Politics Noir: Dark Tales from the Corridors of Power. Listening to Phillips read in his rich bass voice really brings the story alive.
Next up on deck will be Dave Zeltserman (Bad Thoughts). His submission should be available for your listening pleasure on Sunday of this week.
