Almost a week after the nominees were announced for three other commendations to be handed out at this year’s Left Coast Crime convention, to be held in Denver in March, the list of contenders for the 2008 Dilys Award has been released. The Dilys Award is given out annually by the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association to the crime/mystery novel that its members most enjoyed selling in the previous year. The 2008 nominees are:
• Her Royal Spyness, by Rhys Bowen (Berkley)
• Thunder Bay, by William Kent Krueger (Atria)
• The Spellman Files, by Lisa Lutz (Simon & Schuster)
• Silent in the Grave, by Deanna Raybourn (Mira)
• The Blade Itself, by Marcus Sakey (St. Martin’s Minotaur)
(Hat tip to Sarah Weinman).
