Ten Little Options
Did I forget this, or did I never know it in the first place? In any event, Mystery Scene co-publisher Brian Skupin notes in his new blog, Bookflings, that “there are two different endings to Agatha Christie’s famous And Then There Were None? It’s true: she wrote the [1939] novel, and then later on changed the ending when she re-wrote it as a play. It hardly seems fair, does it? One of the greatest mystery plots of all time and she was able to ring her own variation on it.” Shupin goes on to reveal the solutions to both versions, and to compare Christie’s story to screenwriter Michael Cooney’s 2003 film, Identity. I hate having the ending given away, and never do it without warning, and without you deciding to uncover them.
