A Last Breath of Summer

To celebrate the first decade in business of the Five Star Mystery book imprint, Dave Zeltserman, publisher of Hardluck Stories (and author of the new novel Bad Thoughts, a Five Star title), has turned the summer 2007 issue of his online fiction mag over to guest editor John Helfers, who’s described as “packager of the Five Star Mystery line.” He, in turn, solicited some of Five Star’s top authors for short stories. The results: a themed issue of Hardluck, titled “Crime in the City,” which has just been posted.

Contributors include Charles Ardai (“The Leap”), Molly MacRae (“A Walk in the Park”), Trey Barker (“Payment Due”), and Denise Dietz (“Dead Aid”). The complete summer issue of Hardluck Stories can be located right here.
