Just received good news about Jim Born. His 2006 work, Escape Clause, has won the inaugural Florida Book Award for Best Novel (popular fiction). I had the opportunity to sit down with Jim a while back and we talked about that book, his previous novels, and writing in general. Escape Clause is a great read and I’m very happy to hear this news. You might want to do yourself a favor and pick up Jim’s latest novel, Field of Fire--another terrific thriller/procedural. The Florida Book Awards have picked up on what those of us who’ve read Jim born already know--his is a talent to watch.
