Crime Fiction’s Arc?

Writing in his blog, author-editor Ed Gorman (Fools Rush In) points to three novels that he says show clearly “the development of genre fiction over the last century”: George Harmon Coxe’s Murder With Pictures (1933), Ed McBain’s Killer’s Choice (1957), and Terrill Lankford’s Blonde Lightning (2005).

Maybe because it's not there? There's a small piece on Lankford, but not on Coxe and McBain.
