“I Was Just Enthusiastic. They Should Have Had a Thing Like ‘Most Enthusiastic Actress,’ and I Would Have Won That Thing Every Year”

Although there will certainly be many readers of this blog who knew Susan Saint James best for her co-starring role (with Jane Curtin) in the 1980s sitcom Kate & Allie, my memories of the California-born actress—who died from pancreatic cancer earlier this week at age 80—center primarily on two older crime dramas: The Name of the Game (1968-1971) and McMillan & Wife (1971-1976).

Entertainment Tonight aired the video remembrance embedded above, which recaps Saint James’ performance career, her volunteer work with Special Olympics, and her tragic loss of a son.
