There are several dozen category winners in this year’s INDIES Book of the Year Awards program, coordinated by Foreword Reviews and designed to “celebrate outstanding books published in 2025 by small, independent, and university presses.” Four novels have been honored as outstanding examples of adult mystery fiction:
Gold Medal — A Murder in Zion, by Nicole Maggi (Oceanview)
Silver Medal — Garbage Town, by Ravi Gupta (Greenleaf Book Group Press)
Bronze Medal — Killer Tracks, by Mary Keliikoa (Level Best)
Honorable Mention — Dying Cry, by Margaret Mizushima (Crooked Lane)
Four others have won in the adult thriller and suspense division:
Gold Medal — The Mean Ones, by Tatiana Schlote-Bonne (Creature)
Silver Medal — The Art of Greed, by Hans Peter Brunner (Greenleaf Book Group Press)
Bronze Medal — Novel Threat, by Traci Hunter Abramson (Shadow Mountain)
Honorable Mention — The Haunting of Emily Grace, by Elena Taylor (Severn House)
