Malice Domestic also announced that they are postponing the event, that was to be held April 30-May 3 in Bethesda, Maryland. Event staff noted they “have chosen to postpone rather than cancel for a number of reasons, not least of which is that we are committed to bringing the Malice family together when it is safe to do so.” They’re also working with the hotel to finalize the new dates, and all Malice registrations will transfer to those dates. (Note: the website hasn’t been updated with the news just yet, although an e-mail was sent to all registrants and the media.)UPDATE: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Murder and Mayhem in Chicago conference, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 21, has also been cancelled. “Based on the current information available and recommendations from government agencies,” reads a message sent out to registered attendees, “we feel this is the best course of action. We will be issuing refunds, which you should receive within 14 days. We are also currently working to reschedule speakers and nail down a 2021 date.”
