Losing Lewis

This Sunday evening will introduce PBS Masterpiece Mystery! viewers to the start of the eighth and final season of Inspector Lewis, the popular British-made TV detective drama starring Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox. That first episode, “One for Sorrow,” will be one of three new stories to be shown on successive Sundays.

Inspired by Colin Dexter’s now classic novels about Oxford police detective Endeavour Morse, and a sequel to the earlier Inspector Morse, Inspector Lewis follows the late Morse’s former sergeant, Robert “Robbie” Lewis, as he teams up with a younger cop, Detective Sergeant James Hathaway, to solve new crimes on Morse’s old turf.
