For the second year in a row, The Rap Sheet will play host to its own “best crime fiction of the year” lists. Beginning this afternoon, we’ll post a week’s worth of critical evaluations of the books--all published within the genre during 2015--that our critics think are especially deserving of widespread acclaim. While we don’t really intend this series of posts to be a spur for Chanukah, Christmas, or Kwanzaa present-buying, please feel free to write down a few titles if you need ideas for the crime-fiction fans on your gift list. Let us know, too, if there are other new works in this field that you found particularly noteworthy in 2015, but that we don’t mention.
