Britain’s Crime Writers’ Association is inviting readers everywhere to nominate authors they believe should be in the running for its 2016 Dagger in the Library award. As Crime Fiction Lover observes, the Dagger in the Library is “a unique part of the [annual] Dagger awards, because it celebrates an author’s entire body of work rather than just one book and was created in response to the huge numbers of readers who flock to local libraries to borrow crime novels.”
Nominations will be accepted between now and March 1, 2016. Participants in this online process can put forward the names of as many as three authors in the crime, mystery, and thriller field. Simply click here to make your suggestions known. The 10 novelists receiving the most
votes will make up the longlist of contenders. A panel of judges will decide who earns a place on the shortlist, and then pick a victor from among those writers.
An announcement of who has won the 2016 Dagger in the Library should be expected by next summer.
