Here’s something I didn’t know before today: Jean Darling, the former regular in the famous Our Gang (aka The Little Rascals) series of short comedy films, who died last Friday at age 93, was also a published mystery fictionist. According to The Gumshoe Site, the actress moved to Dublin, Ireland, in 1974, and there set about penning short stories for Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine and Mike Shayne Mystery Magazine. Wikipedia adds that Darling “had over 50 short stories published” in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine and Whispers, the latter being a periodical specializing in horror and fantasy fiction.
