Early Out of the Gate

Once more, Booklist isn’t waiting for the end of the year to post its end-of-the-year choices of “best crime novels.” Bill Ott has actually put together two lists: “Top 10 Crime Fiction” (which includes Olen Steinhauer’s The Cairo Affair, Marisha Pessl’s Night Film, and James Carlos Blake’s The Rules of Wolfe) and “Best Crime Fiction Debuts” (featuring Jonathan Holt’s The Abomination, C. J. Howell’s The Last of the Smoking Bartenders, and Elisabeth Elo’s North of Boston, among other works). Click here to read all about them.
