Elmore Leonard died less than two months ago, and already plans are in the works for a book-length homage to his contributions as a crime novelist. Small and still-new San Antonio, Texas-based publisher Perpetual Motion Machine is soliciting submissions to a 2015 release titled Stay Cool: A Tribute to Elmore
Leonard.
“No one did crime fiction like Mr. Leonard,” the publisher opines. “He was simply the best of the best. We are looking for short stories that do his work justice. Stories that are written in the same spirit and tone. We want cool, eccentric plots and characters running wild. Let us relive Elmore Leonard through our own words.”
The deadline for contributions is more than a year away: September 30, 2014. “Word count should be no less than 1,000 words and no more than 10,000 words. Reprints, multiple submissions, and simultaneous submissions are fine,” Perpetual Motion explains. Click
