Secrets and Spies
Flavorwire recently asked Max Allan Collins--whose penultimate completion of a “substantial” Mickey Spillane novel, the espionage-tinged Complex 90, is now on bookstore shelves--to name his 10
favorite Cold War-era spy novels. The results of that exercise won’t surprise
many people (though it is fairly unusual to see Peter O’Donnell’s The
Impossible Virgin mentioned). But for anyone who hasn’t yet enjoyed these books,
this might be a good reminder to check them out. Collins’ list is here.
