Tube Treats

Next time you’re in the mood for some television, but there’s nothing on that’s worth watching, turn instead to these screen gems available--at least for the present--through YouTube: the 1967 pilot film for Raymond Burr’s long-running cop drama, Ironside; Ellery Queen: Don’t Look Behind You, an unsuccessful 1971 TV pilot film starring Peter Lawford and Harry Morgan, and based on the 1949 Ellery Queen novel, Cat of Many Tails (Richard Levinson and William Link penned the original script, but had their names removed from the credits in protest of the finished film--more about that here); and the 1972 pilot film for The Streets of San Francisco, starring Karl Malden, Michael Douglas, and Robert Wagner (the film has been divided into seven parts, all of which should be accessible from this page).

Happy viewing, everyone!
