Made in the Shades

While pondering CBS-TV’s decision to cancel CSI: Miami after 10 seasons on the air, the blog Criminal Element asks, “if Archie Bunker’s chair belongs in the Smithsonian, don’t Horatio Caine’s shades?” We wholeheartedly second that proposition.

And I "third" it. The mere fact that Miami, of the three, is the one who gets parodied (sunglasses, one-liners, opening yell from the Who song) is proof enough that it made an impact. Dang! The more I think about it, the more I'm still irritated. I knew the ending was coming. Would have appreciated a nice farewell tour-type thing, like Desperate Housewives.

I'm a fourth! For us CSI:Miami was like a camp fun time. His iconic shades, the side view as he suddenly came into focus, all of those little moments with children always made us laugh. And I'll miss the spike heels, cleavage, and white pants the women wore as they investigated crime scenes.

Yes not very realistic - but fun to watch & those lovely scenic shots!
