“Tailor”-made for Le Carré
Eighty-year-old author John le Carré sounds very pleased with the film version of his 1974 novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which opens in U.S. theaters tomorrow. “Once in a lifetime, if a novelist is very lucky, he gets a movie made of one of his books that has its own life and truth,” Le Carré writes in Salon. “This is the achievement of Tomas Alfredson and his team.” You can read all of the author’s brief comments on the picture here.
