You Can Go Holmes Again
Since I was very fond of the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, which starred Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous pair of sleuths, I am looking forward to its sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. That movie--which will also feature Noomi Rapace, star of the Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo--is scheduled to debut in theaters in mid-December, but its trailer is already making the rounds. Click on the embedded video window below to watch.

God, you loved Guy Ritchie's loathsome abomination? And I'm following this blog?
Yes, I did enjoy Sherlock Holmes. I didn't say it was a faithful rendering of Conan Doyle, or even a brilliant mystery, but I liked the film as an entertainment piece.
Sorry to disappoint. ;)
Cheers,
Jeff
Very cool. Check out my post about Dr. Watson from last Friday http://manoflabook.com/wp/?p=2924
Nothing whatsoever to do with Conan Doyle, these are Sherlock Holmes for the 21st century. Would really have been better if they just invented another Victorian Sleuth. There is only one Sherlock Holmes and that is Jeremy Brett. He was Sherlock Holmes
IMO.
Oh, I certainly agree, Iden. Jeremy Brett captured the character of Sherlock Holmes better than any actor had before. Or has since.
Cheers,
Jeff
Yes and our dog is name Jeremy Brett! how curious eh?
Jeff - you and I seem to be the only people who write for crime blogs that truly enjoyed Downey and Law. Everywhere else I keep reading of how people really loathed it. I happen to think Downey is a superb actor. He also made Iron Man the success it was. And he and Jude Law really made the movie something more than a series of overblown action set pieces. So glad to see someone else out there can be impressed with a reinterpretation of Holmes without calling it "an abomination."
