Giving Winslow the Bird
The Gumshoe Site’s Jiro Kimura brings news that U.S. author Don Winslow has won the 2010 Maltese Falcon Award for his novel The Power of the Dog (originally published in 2005). The Falcon is given out by the Maltese Falcon Society of Japan to “the best hard-boiled/private eye novel published in Japan in the previous year.”

The world is finally catching up to Winslow.
Wait til they get a load of Savages.
Thanks for posting this, JKP! And I noticed he previously won a Maltese Award for A COOL BREEZE ON THE UNDERGROUND, his first novel... which, ahem, Busted Flush is reprinting in a couple months! (Sorry, shameless plug there.) :-))
