“Oh, Kane, I Thought You’d Never Get Here”
I wasn’t even born yet when actor Lloyd Nolan starred in NBC-TV’s Martin Kane, Private Eye, a series that ran from September 1, 1949, until June 17, 1954, though not always with Nolan holding down the lead role (William Gargan and Lee Tracy also starred at various times as “television’s first private eye). And I don’t believe I had seen an episode from that half-hour, black-and-white show--until today. Writer Kliph Nesteroff has posted one of the 1952 Nolan eps, “A Crooner Is Murdered,” in his blog, Classic Television Showbiz.
