It looks as if this week’s contest in Massachusetts to fill the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by Edward Kennedy’s passing last August is going to become a lot more controversial amid revelations that in 2008, Republican contender Scott Brown sided with “unhinged right-wing activists [in] pushing the line that [Barack] Obama’s parents weren’t married, a claim that became central to the bizarre Birther conspiracy theory.” More on that here and here.
