After going quiet for a few weeks (it seems he was buried in graduate school tasks) blogger Cullen Gallagher has returned with a pair of interviews well worth reading.
The first, appearing in Pulp Serenade, is his exchange with David Laurence Wilson, who wrote the introduction to Stark House Press’ most recent collection of Harry Whittington works. Wilson shows himself to be quite the Whittington scholar, as well as a rather remarkable survivor. You can read that interview here.
Meanwhile, Gallagher talks with one of our favorite writers--and a Rap Sheet contributor--Megan Abbott (Bury Me Deep), for The Brooklyn Rail. They chat about Abbott’s academic studies in noir literature, the remarkable covers of her novels, and links between contemporary crime fiction and present-day politics. Their conversation can be enjoyed here.
