The Science of Self-Promotion

I’m not a user of the social networking site Facebook, because I don’t need any more excuses to be hunched over a computer. But a friend of mine who does use it sent me this “status update” from author James Ellroy’s Facebook page:


Since Blood’s a Rover hits bookstores just days after The Lost Symbol, Dan Brown’s overhyped follow-up to The Da Vinci Code, it may indeed take “jaguar jizz” and blood--and maybe a little voodoo--to win Ellroy’s new novel widespread notice.
