If Looks Could Kill

Putting aside all seriousness for a moment, blogger-author Declan Burke is asking his readers to answer that immortal question, “Who is the sexiest Irish crime writer?” Is it Alex Barclay? Tana French? John Connolly? Declan Hughes? Or maybe one of the other well-favored wordsmiths he mentions? The likelihood is that Mr. Burke won’t have his survey going for long, so if you want to participate, head on over to his page and check one of the poll boxes in the upper left-hand corner.

I should note that this issue of an author’s visual appeal is not altogether frivolous. In his blog, writer Keith Raffel (Dot.Dead) cites a quote from a People Magazine editor who contends that “if you have an attractive looking author, there’s a better chance that your book will get reviewed.” Under those rules, a lot of us are screwed.
