Zeltserman Inks Film Deal

Dave Zeltserman’s upcoming fourth novel, 28 Minutes, has been optioned for the screen by Constantin Film. Travis Milloy (Pandorum, Just Like Mora) will write the screenplay for the film version, to be produced by Robert Kulzer, Paul W.S. Anderson and Jeremy Bolt, who together produced the Resident Evil movies.

The Boston-based novelist reports that it’s possible the same outfit will also secure the film rights for his 2008 novel. “Small Crimes is under discussion, things are promising but it’s very early. With Small Crimes, it would be my own script.”

Zeltserman says that getting things to this point has taken more than a little bit of time and effort. “Steve Fisher at APA started shopping it three years ago. We had a couple of close calls at the beginning [and] last year, but scheduling conflicts killed them. Around November Impact Pictures/Constantin got involved and things happened fast after that.”

28 Minutes will be published in the UK by Serpent’s Tail in July of 2010. As of this writing, there is still no U.S. deal in place.
