How did this little bit of news get past me before? Following its popular recent film showings at San Francisco’s Castro Theater, it seems that Eddie Muller’s Noir City festival is heading north to my damp hometown of Seattle. Blogger Vince Keenan alerts me to the fact that the series begins showing this coming Friday as part of the Seattle International Film Festival. “This year’s timely theme, in case you haven’t guessed, is newspaper noir,” Keenan writes, evidently alluding to the possibility that Seattle will lose the better of its two daily newspapers in the near future. “Seven nights of double-bills for only ten bucks a pop. Features paired with authentic B-movies in an experience that host and programmer Eddie Muller says is as close as you’ll get to actually going to the movies in 1948.”
A schedule of Noir City’s Seattle run, as well as information about purchasing tickets, can be found here.
See you at the movies, folks.

This is Noir City's third go-round in Seattle. I'd love to see the Emerald City break some attendance records this year.
