Of interest to everyone, like me, who’ll be attending Bouchercon in Baltimore this October: A schedule of the panel discussions has just been released. There are plenty of great opportunities here. Particularly interesting are: “Call Me When You’re Sober” (featuring a quartet of reportedly hollow-legged authors from the British Isles--Declan Hughes, Declan Burke, Stuart MacBride, and Martyn Waites); “New York State of Mind” (with Jason Starr, Ira Berkowitz, Parnell Hall, Lawrence Light, Jonathan Santlofer, and Richard Stevenson); “Hooked on Classics” (in which some of today’s authors champion the wordsmiths of old--Gary Phillips on Chester Himes, Christa Faust on Richard S. Prather, and Max Allan Collins on Mickey Spillane); and “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me” (looking at Batman as “the world’s greatest detective,” with McKenna Jordan, Brian Azzarello, Tim Broderick, Victor Gischler, and Greg Rucka all weighing in on the matter).
By the way, I love that the panel names all come from song titles. Has someone thought to play those songs at the start of each discussion? What fun that might be.
Again, the whole schedule can be found here.
