Feed the Need

It’s no big thing, really, but I should point out that I have added search boxes for two online booksellers--Portland, Oregon-based Powell’s Books (my favorite bookstore in the Pacific Northwest) and the mondo-megalithic Amazon.com--at the bottom of the right-hand column on this page. So, if you’re looking for a book mentioned in The Rap Sheet, but there’s no link from this site to a bookseller offering more information, you can search for it in this way.

The Rap Sheet gets a very modest kickback every time you purchase a book through one of these sites, which helps defray the cost of putting this blog together every day.

These online book-selling services, however, should not prevent you from patronizing your closest independent bookstore. Searching out and buying from local independents is the best way to ensure diversity and excellence in book publishing.
