Tease Me, Go On and Please Me

Speaking of James Bond (and aren’t we always?), there’s now a trailer available for the 22nd 007 film, Quantum of Solace, which is due for a theatrical release come this autumn. Judged simply on the basis of such clip compilations, I can’t tell whether I look forward more to the debut of Quantum or of the new Batman flick, The Dark Knight. But I shall probably see them both.

The Quantum of Solace teaser is available here.

As 2008 started, I could not really decide which movie in a boffo year of movies I wanted to see more. Wall-E spoke to the kid in me. Indy 4 spoke to the teenager in me. But The Dark Knight spoke to the adult in me. And, as much fun as I had with Indy, Wall-E, and Iron Man and as much fun as I *will* have with Bond, Potter, and Mulder/Scully, it's The Dark Knight that I most want to see. I think this might go down as the greatest comic book film to date. Batman Begins was excellent b/c it was a Bruce Wayne movie, not a Batman movie. That's why Superman Returns was so lame and Spiderman 1-2 and X-Men were go good. If they continue in that vein, TDK should be something special.
