Back to the Back Alley

After what seems like a very long period of silence (or could simply be the result of our childish unwillingness to wait for gratification), Richard Helms’ Derringer Award-winning Webzine, The Back Alley, is finally up with its fourth edition. Among its contents are new short tales by Patti Abbott (“Georgie”), Jack Bludis (“Lap Dance”), and Tony Black (the innocently named “Eat Shit”), as well as William Dean Howells’ 1902 eulogy to author Frank Norris, the latter of whom is even better represented here with part three of McTeague, his 1899 “classic noir” yarn set in San Francisco.

Look for the full issue here.
