We’re still experiencing spring-like weather here in Seattle (now you know why this place is nicknamed Rain City), so the slightly tardy posting of Demolition magazine’s Spring 2008 edition is hardly worth raising an eyebrow over. This issue offers a quartet of stories by Justin Porter (“How the Unicorn Got His Horn”), William Dylan Powell (“Intervention”), Stephen Blackmoore (“In a Family Way”), and our friend from Things I’d Rather Be Doing, John Kenyon (“In the Dark”).
Meanwhile, today brings the results of the “Shifting Gears” flash-fiction challenge, posed a month ago by Patti Abbott, Gerald So, and Aldo “Mystery Dawg” Calcagno. The assignment was to “write a story [of] 750 words or less incorporating the sentence, ‘With gas prices rising, their plans had to change.’” Lists of the participating bloggers can be found here and here, with more entries at Powder Burn Flash.
