• In case you didn’t hear it live, National Public Radio host Terry Gross’ interview with Hard Case Crime publisher and author Charles Ardai, originally broadcast yesterday on Fresh Air, is archived here.
• While we’re on the subject of things you might have missed, what about critic-author Eddie Muller’s terrific overview of Bay Area-based crime fiction, which appeared this last weekend in the San Francisco Chronicle? It comes complete with Muller’s selection of his favorite noir tales from Baghdad by the Bay. (Nice to see the oddly disappeared private-eye novelist Stephen Greenleaf prominently mentioned.) Mark Coggins, who was among the novelists interviewed by Muller, has some things to add on the subject of Golden Gate crime here. And to learn more about San Francisco mysteries, look here and here.
• It seems that a new, commentary-endowed DVD set of the 1965-1968 espionage series I Spy, which starred Robert Culp and Bill Cosby, has just been released. And did you know that the online video-on-demand service Hulu is offering streaming videos of the show? Check them out here.
• Finally, a happy birthday to Jeffery Deaver.
