Quote of the Week: “What I Lack in Masochism I Like to Make Up for With Laziness”

Michael Langnas, editor-in-chief of the much-celebrated crime-fiction magazine Murdaland, is interviewed in the New York City arts/hip-hop Webzine Frank 151. (Yeah, I admit, I’d never heard of that publication either, till now. Guess I’m not a New York hipster. More’s the shame ...) During this discussion, Langnas talks about Mickey Spillane’s recent 90th birthday, Raymond Chandler’s “wise-guy voice,” how to avoid monotony and predictability in crime fiction, and the difficulties of adhering to a twice-a-year publishing schedule. Click here to read the entirety of Langnas’ comments.
