Two online interviews worth pointing out this week: In Pulp Pusher, Allan Guthrie (who last year won the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award) chats up novelist Dave Zeltserman (Bad Thoughts) about his three-book deal with Serpent’s Tail, publishing in the UK, and his new cop novel, Small Crimes. Their exchange can be found here. Meanwhile, John Kenyon of Things I’d Rather Be Doing talks with Ray Banks about Saturday’s Child, developing a back-story for protagonist Cal Innes, and why he uses song titles as the names of his stories. The Banks interview is here.
Finally, at the risk of being too incestuous, I should point readers to Shots’ interview--conducted by Rap Sheet regular Ali Karim--with Linda L. Richards, another Rap Sheeter, the editor of mothership January Magazine, and author of the recently released period thriller Death Was the Other Woman. Click here to read their back-and-forth.
