You don’t want to forget that The Rap Sheet’s latest poll, asking readers to identify which crime-fiction character they would most like to be kissing on Valentine’s Day, will close this coming Wednesday evening, with results to be reported on February 14. So far, Lee Child’s Jack Reacher and The Rockford Files’ Jim Rockford are running at the front of the male pack, with Ross Macdonald’s Lew Archer and James Lee Burke’s Dave Robicheaux right behind them; while among the women, Kristen Bell’s Veronica Mars and Dennis Lehane’s Angela Gennaro are way out in front, pursued most closely by Without a Trace’s Elena Delgado and Monk’s Natalie Teeger.
