We’d like to extend a big welcome back to Andy Kolb, whose NoirBlog went inactive this last summer, only to then disappear entirely. We assumed he’d given up on this business of communicating through short electronic posts. But the problem turns out to have been one of technology rather than temperament. “[M]y previous host shut me off without warning,” Kolb reports. “I lost all the data from the previous site, so now I’m stuck starting from scratch.”
The initial results of that effort are impressive, with the blog looking far more professional than it did previously--and filling up fast with posts about major crime-fiction films in the works. Just covered this week: Megan Abbott’s Die a Little film deal; George Clooney’s decision to drop out of a movie based on James Ellroy’s White Jazz; and Gone Baby Gone, the feature based on Dennis Lehane’s 1998 novel of the same name, and opening in theaters today.
We have happily restored NoirBlog to The Rap Sheet’s right-hand column of links.
