Checking in with crime writers who haven’t been heard from in a while is hardly a new idea. (Mystery Scene magazine does that in every issue.) Nonetheless, its remains reassuring to know that people whose work we’ve enjoyed at one time or another haven’t fallen off the earth or else been taken into custody at Guantanamo Bay. People such as Cleveland writer Les Roberts, best known for penning the P.I. Milan Jacovich series. Responding to one of several questions at Dutch blogger Jochem van der Steen’s Sons of Spade site, Roberts reassures his fans that
First of all, Milan Jacovich WILL be back early next year in “King of the Holly Hop,” published by Gray and Company. I’m currently writing a screenplay based on one of Milan’s past adventures, “The Irish Sports Pages,” which will be filmed mostly in Cleveland next year and will probably be released in early 2009.
