Sightings

• Mark Coggins (Candy from Strangers) is interviewed by author-blogger Julia Buckley at Mysterious Musings. They talk about the evolution of Coggins’ fictional private eye, August Riordan; his day job with computers and software; and his recent examination of Raymond Chandler’s revisions on The Long Goodbye. Their full exchange can be found here.

• Jeff Abbott submits his latest novel, Fear, to Marshal Zeringue’s infamous Page 69 Test. Results here.

• I vaguely remember the two novels featuring actress-sleuth Morgan Taylor (Audition for Murder and Cruising for Murder). But Mystery*File’s Steve Lewis not only gives us the background on those books, but features an interview with Susan Sussman, who, with the late Sarajane Avidon, penned those works.

• And Michael Koryta (A Welcome Grave) is making the most of his guest-blogging opportunity at Sarah Weinman’s Confessions of an Idiosyncratic Writer, soliciting favorite film noir quotes from crime writers (see here and here) and commenting on writing motivation.
