Bad Boy
We mentioned earlier this year that director-writer “Smokin’ Joe” Carnahan is working on a film adaptation of the last book in James Ellroy’s “L.A. Quartet,” White Jazz. Cinematical now reports that Carnahan hopes to begin shooting Ellroy’s tale (which he describes as “an episode of Cops shot in 1958”) on December 10 of this year. The International Movie Database still shows White Jazz being released in 2009, but that schedule could obviously be accelerated.
