There are two weeks left of shooting the first two episodes, then on to the next two which are always blocked, meaning they shoot two episodes at the same time over three weeks, thereby giving the show a kind of economy of energy, time and savings. It’s a hop scotch, two episodes are in production and two are in prep, then the next two go into production while 5 and 6 are in prep, all the way to the end of first season. Long days, late nights, a marathon so to speak for 4 months and then on to prep for the next season. You think the life of an actor or anyone involved is glamorous? Appearances are deceiving, this is one of the most challenging jobs in the world coupled with the insecurity of not knowing if you have another job when your done. And We’re Rolling ...
As we’ve mentioned before, Shaftesbury Films of Canada is producing a new 13-episode series of The Murdoch Mysteries, based upon Maureen Jennings’ novels about Victorian Toronto detective William Murdoch. This series stars Yannick Bisson in the title role, Thomas Craig as Murdoch’s boss, Inspector Brackenreid, and Hélène Joy as Toronto coroner Dr. Julia Ogden.
