The votes have been rolling in fast, as The Rap Sheet conducts its second online poll, this time asking readers to choose their favorite TV police detectives and private eyes. (So far, Jim Rockford and Lieutenant Columbo are ahead in their respective races.)
If you haven’t picked your favorites yet, go directly to the two silver-shaded boxes near the top of the right-hand column on this page. You can vote there for more than one character in each category. We’ll leave the poll up and active for another few days, and then report the results on this page.
Oh, and if you have any favorite sleuths we didn’t mention, please feel free to let us know by posting a comment here.

Back in the early 70s, when I first started Mystery*File, I did a similar poll for TV detectives. The winner was David Ross, played by Darren McGavin during two seasons of a series called "The Outsider." Never heard of him? Check out http://www.darrenmcgavin.net/the_outsider.htm
Jake Axminster was good. David Ross was better.
