Even One Book Counts
Novelist and trained concert pianist Fred Mustard Stewart, best known for writing historical sagas such as Ellis Island (1983) and The Naked Savages (1999)--but who also penned a crime-related novel called The Mephisto Waltz (1969)--died last Wednesday at his home in Manhattan. He was 74 years old. Stewart’s obituary in The New York Times can be found here.
