Last month’s Wired magazine contained an intriguing selection of six-word (very) short stories composed by science-fiction, fantasy, and horror writers. (From V for Vendetta’s Alan Moore: “Machine. Unexpectedly, I’d invented a time”). Now, New York City novelist S.J. Rozan (Absent Friends, In This Rain) is putting the same challenge to crime writers. The specifics: “Send your story to: sixwordstory@aol.com. Include your name and, if you want, your URL. Stories S.J. finds appealing for whatever idiosyncratic reason will be posted here. Maybe there’ll be a prize beyond the wonder of seeing your story in electronic print; maybe not. We’ll think about it.”
