Though some of the conclusions they reach are a little bizarre (“Scratch a novel about a novelist, and you’ll find a novel about a novelist who can’t finish his novel.”), when A.V. Club rounds up “Six Memorable Books About Writers Writing” it’s interesting that pretty much all of them end up being of interest to Rap Sheet readers. Here’s the list:
• Michael Chabon, Wonder Boys (1995)
• Michael Connelly, The Poet (1996)
• Bret Easton Ellis, Lunar Park (2005)
• Stephen King, Misery (1987)
• Vladimir Nabokov, Pale Fire (1962)
• Chuck Palahniuk, Haunted (2005)
